The players have gotten used to the two formations now, 4-2-3-1 and 3-4-3.

I wonder which one he'll choose Thursday?

Either way we're both on for EL and top 4.

If we can get past Napoli we're on for a possible cracking debut season, still lots to improve but if we can grind out results and trophies while we're doing it then the Don is doing well.

Short-sighted?

Mate, we have already bettered our entire points tally from the previous season with 5 games to go, we are in pole position for 4th place, we're in the driving seat going into the second leg of our Europa League Quarter-Final, we've just kept a clean sheet and taken 3 points from a very hostile ground, whilst resting some of our key players, and you're complaining?

Just be happy ffs.

At this stage of the season, performances aren't that important. Results are.

I would take more performances like that if it means we win every game from now until the end of the season.

Applying perspective makes a hell of a difference.

Not to excuse some of the piss poor performances out there today, but I'm sorry I dont think poor finishing and passing in the final third is really Emery's fault.

He has to rotate because he lives in the real world and people like mkhi Ramsey auba etc. Should be able to bury the chances that were created today.

I don't get how happy some people are to wollow in negativity given the position we are in.

If we were cut lose, I'd understand but it's all to play for, destiny is in our hands in 2 competitions with 5 league games to go and we have relatively fit squad for a change.

Cheer up!

Absolutely shit performance yesterday, its beyond a joke how shit we can be away from home. I just don't get it. But we can go to Spurs and blow them away with a top quality performance - albeit being robbed by the refereeing.

However a win is a win and I will take that. The points are more important than the performance. That said at this stage of the season where EVERY game matters, ignore the performances at your peril!

Some of you need to make up your mind, when we play well its the Emery effect or Emery is a genius so then conversely when we play bad it MUST be down to Emery, you lot can't have it both ways.

And by you lot I mean the Emery worshippers who refuse to find fault in anything he does.

Irrespective what people "claim" about same players, same formations etc, there must be a reason for the dramatic fall in performance in away games. If I get some time I will see if i can find a pattern and send it to Emery with a note that says "you're welcome".

I said during the game that its always (strangely) difficult for a team with 11 players playing 10, especially when you are a goal up. They raised their game, defended very well and made it difficult for us. However, we did enough and that's all that matters. Onwards and upwards!

The truth is, if we win our last three away games, we will be averaging about the same, results-wise, as we have over the past ten years, with the exception of that awful away form last season.

............P. W. D. L. F... A
08/09 19 9 7 3 37 21
09/10 19 8 4 7 35 26

We're so Jekyll and Hyde. I know no team plays well every game, but when we play bad, it's such a huge drop off. Good thing is, we usually tend to play good after we play that bad. Fingers crossed!

Yeah because last years away form was amazing ......... with 1 win away in 2018 and that one being the last game of the season.

Quite frankly this is all nonsense from you now because we're in the results end of the season, I'm not interested in your critic of a manager who has us one foot in the EL Semi's and the other foot in the top 4 .......... in his debut season may I add.

You can busy yourself with racking your brain about it while the rest of us just bother about the results.

Emery the Don.
