There's an order of magnitude difference between his failure and what we are facing now with Artetas failure.

We had already qualified for Europe at the end of 18/19, the problem was that Emery bottled Top 4 by a couple of points and lost the EL final. He was sacked early last season because we wanted Top 4, and could not risk a bad start.

A year and a half later Top 6 is long gone, let alone Top4. We have no Europe for the first time in a quarter century and will have our lowest league fininish since 1960.

Emery is like Moyes. A mid table club manager who will always exceed modest expectations. Got exposed at PSG and Arsenal. Like Moyes got exposed at United. Villarreal is his level. He’s not a Klopp or Guardiola who will regularly dine at the top table.

The problem all mangers face in the EPL is that to finish to four - which for many clubs is a minimum - you have to beat at least two from City, Chelsea, Utd, Spurs, Liverpool, Leicester and hope that no other club West Ham, Everton, Villa have a great season. There is no other league where the level of competition even comes close.

Emery failed, but so did Klopp in his first season and Mourinho, Ole and a whole list of others - it's not that easy.

Emery is levels above Arteta and given more time would certainly not have been where we are now ... but is he an EPL winner? in the past four years that's a list of just two names, again it's not that easy.

With a "pub team" to boot.

Not like he d*cked us with PSG, over 2 legs as well, proper burnt our toast.

Fair play to him, he's got Villarreal playing respectfully decent football, not amazing but hard to break down.

Way too much for us anyway apparently.

This is what the "Wenger in" people still don't understand. Wenger got Top 4 as long as the only competition was City, Chelsea and Utd/Liverpool.

Once the league had Conte, Mourinho, Pep, Poch and Klopp running teams, it was over. Wenger was financially outgunned for years, but once he started getting tactically outgunned as well, there was no way forward.

The lowest we can finish is 12th
We finished 12th in 94/95
We have a point more than then
And it was a 42 game season

All the stats in the world doesn't take away the fact that given the opportunity Emri could have done a better job than the clown we have now.

Emery had the opportunity and couldn’t get a win for 1.5 months. Stop trying to rewrite history lol.
