Nowhere to be seen

See this is what's wrong with this forum. You're trying to start a pissing contest. We are all (including AlexFC, Gooney, Godlop, Angelito et al) happy that Arsenal won. Get it out of your hand that we want to see Arsenal fail. We just haven't seen any good evidence (today included) that Emery is the guy to take us forward - just like Wenger wasn't either. If you're Emery FC, that's a different story. But don't come in here gloating as if today's win was due to Emery's brilliance. if anything, we won despite Emery.

Ah the lose and it's all Emery and win and nothing to do with him argument

Same old same old.

3-0 away from a home against a side no English team has ever won at with a bunch of kids and players lacking confidence. It's a brilliant win. Couldn't care less they had more shots against us than we had v them.

We had by far the better chances and should've won by more
Jep.

Auba, torrito, willock and esr missing sitters. Could of scored 7

xG has it 1.5 to 3.9 in our favour

Good stuff going forward, bit concerning defensively but seemed out most fluid attacking display in ages

................ again, it was 3-0 the opposition didn't even score a goal so our defense couldn't be too bad?

Remember the times under Wenger when opposition teams used to park the bus, we used to take 20 hail mary shots as well because we couldn't penetrate but it didn't result in goals, we just got starved out.

When these chances are clear cut and they start going in like a few ones we've let slip recently then its a problem.

Problem is frankfurt is shite and better teams would punish us with those chances. Plus our xG is fluffed up from the chances after they went down to 10 men, late on we punished them but for the majority of the game it was end to end basketball and they looked the better team.

1.5xG conceded is pretty big, especially given the fact that you’d expect every team to over perform the expected goals metric

If they still had quality like Jovic & Haller with the same performance then that 1.5 could’ve easily amounted to 3 goals

Also I don’t think we’ve ever conceded as many shots as we do now, Watford’s xG was 2.8 against us. That is absolutely massive, Hail Mary shots usually equal <0.05 xG in the metric, for context

"Conceded shots" ............ dude, what does that even mean??

How can you stop a team from shooting ffs? you can stop them having quality shots i.e close range, on target, but you can't stop a team from shooting all over the place.

You concede goals, not shots.

What next, Frankfurt conceded 200 passes from AFC?

The madness needs to stop.

The way u stop conceding shots is by dominating the game

The way u stop conceding quality chances is a good defensive system (from the midfield back, this isn’t on our actual defensive personnel)

Currently we’re not doing the top part and definitely not doing the bottom part, which is why were in the shit

If you can't see the problem with this game and just see the result, this is a wasted conversation. We need more control from the midfield and protection. This was like a basketball game.

True. Our first team would have probably lost or drawn that game going off current form.

It helps so much [to have Ljungberg there],” Saka said. “Sometimes when I don’t understand, when the coach is trying to communicate with me, I have a better communication with Freddie sometimes, he speaks better English.

Good grief.

So the players are officially moaning that they can't understand what Emery is saying?

If he values his job he better learn English like yesterday, he can't afford to have this issue as a running commentary.
