Emery doesn't rate him higher than ESR, Saka, Martinelli, Reiss etc. He's Got to Go!. It is what it is,

Highly-rated Arsenal & England youth winger Xavier Amaechi has joined Hamburg. 18yo rejected new contract + numerous suitors to sign 4yr deal today. Fee over €2.5m + performance-related add-ons. No buy-back but #AFC have sell-on clause. Will wear 17 & be a 1st team regular #HSV

Need to hire Jorge Mendes full time to get some better fees, this is bullshit. Stop selling to those socialist German clubs when newly promoted EPL clubs will spend 4x that without blinking

If we'd had larger offers from English clubs I imagine we'd have listened to them. I also imagine we're more comfortable selling a player abroad than to a direct rival.

Chelsea sold KDB to Wolfsburg, and a year later he was at City. Ditto for Salah to Liverpool. If they're good, our rivals will come after them regardless of where they might be playing.

I find it hard to believe City can sell Douglas Luiz and his 0 senior appearances to Aston Villa for £15m and we can't even garner any interest for a promising youth player for even 1/3rd of that.

Wasn't his contract about to run out?

I mean, I'm not sure what point you are making here. Do you think that you're more knowledgeable about how best to extract value from a player's sale than Raul is?

Yep, it was a case of either selling him now or risk watching him walk out the door for free come the end of the season.

OK, I didn't know about his contract situation. Transfermarkt says he signed a 2-year deal in the summer, so this would have been his last year.
