LoL - Except that TV viewer numbers have increased by 40% worldwide since then, the only decrease being in Europe and that looks like rebounding massively this year ....
TV rights for the CL are now several billion, this years winners will pick up prize money of +80m .... and the sponsorship value could be 5 times that to a Utd, City or PSG ....
Just because we're not in it doesn't mean it's no longer a money spinning machine ....
Consider last night 58,000 tickets sold (and only 70% bothered going) the night before down the road 85,000 tickets sold and 99% turned up .... hmmmmmmm wonder why .......
