And I really hope we avoid Atleti until the SFs. We usually struggle against teams like Atleti.

The most expensive team in history of football schooled by a squad that cost about £5m to assemble.

Also Wenger's ex team and town of birth. :sneaky2:

So much for our Europa League glory.

Don't worry, Atletico will be seeded so we won't get them in the next round.

Course we won't get them in the next round, we'll get them in the Ro16, more commonly known as the Round of Arsenal 5-1

I think, technically, Man City's squad is more expensive. Mbappe doesn't count *yet* because it's a loan deal.

I would be shocked if there wasn't major money involved in this loan deal as well. Off the books of course.

Fair point. In that case second most expensive. :Peace:

In other news; If City (2-0 down) were to lose, this means Napoli will finish third regardless of their result against Feyenoord, meaning Napoli will drop into the EL instead of Shakhtar.

Whilst United ended up against the likes of Anderlecht, Celta Vigo and Ajax in the finals, we could potentially end up facing the likes of Napoli, Milan, Dortmund and Atlético Madrid.

First time in history 5 sides from the same League have qualified for the KO stages of the CL.

Part of me wants Liverpool to go all the way - because of Kloppo and DAT attacking masterclass they are capable of producing. Unlikely I know.

Chelsea are in a tight situation. They could draw one of PSG or Barca in the Ro16, or could find themselves playing Besiktas.

City/Real or PSG/Real is the dream.

Real/Besiktas or Real/Roma is the reality.

It's going to be tough, very, very tough, but I think we can do it if we keep our concentration. Problem with us in Europe are these lapses.

Atleti and Napoli are the real threats. If we're up against either in the Ro16, that's packup for us. I'm pretty sure UEFA will do all it can to make sure that we face one of them. Best case scenario would be Napoli and Atleti facing off. At least that's one quality side out of the way.

ManU received favorable draws last season. It's always the case with ManU in Europe. If we're to win the EL, we'll have to get past Atleti, Napoli, and one of Dortmund or Milan. That's how we roll in Europe.

Arsenal/Dortmund Final plz.

Our most common score in the last 16 in Europe is 1-1 it's happened 9 times
We have 11 more common scores in the last 16 in Europe than last seasons two 5-1 defeats
Including six 1-0 wins
Five 2-0 wins
Three 3-0 wins
Three 2-1 wins
Three 2-2 draws
In fact we only have one other score line in common with the two 5-1 defeats and that is two 3-1 wins
A jolly japester on the internet I get
My mouth curled into a smile once
But chip paper bollocks at the expense of the arsenal I can't have
We won our last penalty shoot out in Europe as well so if the round of arsenal 1-1 happens then we have a massive chance of going thru
