Mourinho always uses the 'mickey mouse' competitions as a springboard to the big trophies.

At porto it was the uefa cup in 02/03 and the CL in 03/04. At chelsea he used winning the league cup in 04/05 as a springboard to winning the league in the same season. At real it was the copa del rey in 10/11 as a springboard to la liga in 11/12.

It is all about that winning mentality and they will do the mickey mouse double this season and be a major force in the league and CL next season imo.
