Shipped off to Qatar for £7.2m. That's less than 25% of what Everton paid for him last year.

One of the more predictable big-money flops in recent years. He's finished physically, and has been for some time.

Never saw anything in him to be honest. Always wondered what the fuss was about.

A pretty ordinary player.

Everton didn't pay a fee. They signed him on a 2-year deal on the same wages he had at Real, about £220k pw, or about £22m. Marca reported this after looking at agent fee data published by the FA.

We did the same by transferring Mhikytaryan. His contract with Roma was for the remaining 2 years of his Arsenal contract, at £200k pw.
