The Let's All Vent About Referees Thread

Might as well have a thread for it considering how many games we've lost because of them.

Have at it

3 times I've counted that Costa should have been sent off. Two of them in quick succession and one of them, he sent Gabriel off for the same thing but Gabriel didn't flick his leg nearly as much.

I'm more annoyed that the ref and Chelsea didn't come to try and play a football match, but get our players sent off and then barely win.

Our managers and players need to put pressure on the refs before this kind of game. There are lots of weak referees in the PL who are just too afraid to take action against the big guys at away games especially. f**k Mike Dean

Arsenal haven't won a trophy since 6 August 2017 and haven't won a big game since 8 March 2018.

I've said for a long time that technology should slowly ease decision making away from referees. Cricket has done it with the third umpire, tennis has done it with the challenge system and both sports are better for it. Not to mention both sports are more conservative than football with their traditions and what not. There is no justification to continue having refs go unchallenged and simply apologize post game with bad decision making.

I honestly think it's gotten to the point where it's an absolute farce that video replays aren't being used.

I'm not a rugby fan but I watched the England match last night and I love the way they use video replays to make sure decisions are correct. Fiji looked to have scored a legitimate try and it was originally given, but once they checked the replays they were able to rightly rule it out. All of this nonsense about it taking too long is ridiculous and I'm sure all teams would be happy if 30-60 seconds were taken to make sure a contentious decision was correct. It also takes ages for these decisions to be made anyway because every is arguing with the ref.

I've become a big nfl fan since living in the states

It amazes me how american football guys are smashing the shit out of each other, but all the while fights breaking out are a very rare occurrence and amongst all that contact they are able to officiate it effectively, with complaints about 'poor decisions' being rare also compared to our football

It would be a glorious day if video officiating was introduced and pl footballers could stop getting away with their pathetic antics
