More finesse, better dribblers, way faster.... than Vieira.

But no, he wouldn't have been the next Vieira, players like that don't come around often.

Imo, Diaby DEFINITELY would have been one of the best in the Prem though.

Could have been, would have been.. Fact of the matter is we will never find out.. Players like Viera don't come around often. Players need to achieve at least a tenth of what he achieved before making comparisons to one of the best combative midfielders the premier league has ever seen. Diaby's stock going up after his injury is case of what happens usually in footballing circles often when a player gets injured.

Fact of the matter is he did not do or show nowhere near enough before his injury to warrant a comparison to the mighty Viera. He is extremely unlucky in that he doesn't get to do what he loves the most most for no mistake of his yet at the same time he is the luckiest man on the planet in that he made a handsome living out of football without actually playing it much at top level. Take the emotions out and you will see there are so many players in the lowest tiers of football whose careers are cut short for reasons out of their control even before they have earned their first professional contract. Diaby needs to be grateful to AFC and Wenger cos anywhere else and he would have been cut loose a long time back.

Before people celebrate getting him off the wage bill, ponder for a moment that he is the last Arsenal squad member to have played at Highbury. Quite poignant when you think about it.

Not quite mate
Flamini played 41 games there for us
Arteta played twice there for Everton
Rosicky played and scored there for Sparta Prague in 2000

You google Dan smith you don't even find him, have to specify he's a footballer.

We're all sounding very bitter on here!

Dan smith never played for sunderland again
He is playing in Australia for a team in Brisbane called holland park hawks

Sounds like jealousy there ;)

Before Shawcross, there was Dan Smith.

And in between there was martin Taylor

Diaby was playing for us within8 days of signing from auxere
He came on in a 1-0 defeat at Everton and continued with appearances for the next 4 months till the injury at sunderland

Yawn...... as I've tried to explain (not that professional victims tend to listen), Stoke fans do NOT boo Ramsey because he got injured. That is a myth you like to peddle because of this bizarre victim bollocks that you literally cannot stop doing. It's painful, beyond belief.

Just out of curiosity, did Sunderland fans boo Diaby and Birmingham fans boo Eduardo?

Or is it just Stoke fans who boo opposition players for getting their legs broken by their neantherthal players?

Why do they boo him then?

If we offer him a new contract then our transition to laughing stock is complete.
