Had a handful of standout games.

The Vieira comparisons were laughable, just because he was a lanky, black French CM. Reminds me of how every pacy foreign black striker is the next Henry.

I actually remember back in Jan 2006 when we signed Theo, Abou and Adebayor; they said Theo was the next Henry, Diaby the next Viera and Adebayor the next Kanu looool.

Legend.

Pogba said other day that Diaby was better than him when he was healthy, hardly wrong. Diaby is one of the biggest what if of our time.

The narrative was that he was this and that

The reality was that he was a vessel used by the Club and Wenger in particular, to justify not buying a DM. The perpetual "coming back in three weeks". The ultimate "like a new signing"

If one player embodies everything that was wrong with the Wenger era, it is him

Not buying a DM?

We didn't have a single penny to spend during that era. Even in 2012, we had to rely on van Persie and Alex Song sales to sign Cazorla, Giroud, and Poldi.

Someday we need somebody to come out and talk about the financial austerity of 2004 until 2012. It was dire.
