2018 and 2022 World Cups

Postby LMAO » Tue Jun 02, 2015 6:19 pm

Now that Blatter has resigned, there is huge speculation about the locations of the Russia and Qatar World Cups. I've been watching ESPN, and they seem to be pretty confident that the World Cup will go ahead in Russia because it's too late to change it plus WW3 could happen if it gets taken away from Putin.

Me personally, I would strip both Russia and Qatar of the World Cups because both are shady as hell. There's no way Putin didn't bribe people to get it in Russia—just look at the handouts his friends got from the Olympics. Qatar is already a well-known farce; even if we discount the obvious bribes, all one has to do is look at workers' rights, death tolls, and various other laws (e.g., drunkenness, PDA) to see that Qatar isn't fit to hold a World Cup. Just look at this infographic:
Image
Surely that number has greatly risen since the graphic was published. Absolutely appalling.

I then give the 2018 World Cup to you bunch of crybabies ;) (but the entirety of the UK instead of England) because Spain/Portugal and Netherlands/Belgium couldn't handle a World Cup with only three years of preparation. 2022 is for the United States against Australia, but I'd personally give it to Australia because they haven't had one yet and 2026 is pretty much a foregone conclusion to be in the US.

2018: United Kingdom
2022: Australia
2026: United States

Let's make the next three World Cups dominated by English-speaking countries. :grouphug:

Leave the 2022 in Qatar.

Give us 2018.

2026 should be in Canada.

I personally think 2018 should go to UK, 2022 to USA, 2026 to Canada or Aussie. Doubt they let it go to English countries that many times in a row though.

Its my opinion that Russia and Qatar will keep their world cups though.

Nah, too much shuffling right now won't be good for football.

2018 stays at Russia. They can manage the World Cup. Russia isn't Qatar. There's no point to change the venue.

2022 - depending on circumstances - should be changed, but it would create an upsurge. That's something FIFA wouldn't want. Ideally, I'd hope a country that's never hosted the WC (Australia/Canada) or UK hosts it, but it would led to unnecessary debates.

2018 in England
2022 in Australia

That is the way it should have been.

2026 in New Zealand (though it never fails to amaze me how one of the best rugby nations has such small stadiums) or Canada.

I actually do not want England to have the World Cup at all in 2018 and if Russia looses it, give it to Holland and Belgium.

This country has so much shit to sort out, like giving young people good careers and prospects not just in football but in life rather than just allow every nation to come in and take up all the good career jobs available and exploit young people with zero hour contracts and unpaid work.

A World Cup just like the Olympics will just raise debt an will as usual only benefit the super elite and everyone else will have to pay for the f***ing thing. What a joke regarding the Olympics is the stadium? what legacy has that stadium left, nothing. West Ham had to buy it or else it would have been like the Dome another huge white elephant stuck there for no reason.

Not just that English football is in a mess, with so many issues at grass roots and so many glaring issues with young players and the next generation not just being given a chance but the type of players being developed. England for years has had an attitude with vilifies players with technique and skill and favors stamina, power and hard-work above all. There is a coaching crisis aswell which has not been addressed properly. These things need to be addressed but the authority would rather a cash guzzling big tournament with plenty of false misleading propaganda about 'What the world cup will bring'. This will only get worse with a World Cup. Look how shitty Brazil have become because of turning a blind eye to it's own big problems at home!

Spain and Portugal also don't deserve it, they have way too many more pressing issues with jobs and their crumbled economy. Half their population has already moved to London for Jobs, as if there wasn't enough people here already.

On a separate note, Qatar MUST be stripped of the 2022 world cup, i despite that nation more than any, it's just disgusting in every way! The evidence this there for all to see. Give it to Australia, I say, America don't need it and have had one already in 1994, Korea and japan have no chance.

Australia seems more than ready to host a tournament like that!

The death toll of manual labor workers due to this World Cup (Qatar) alone is sickening.

Its slavery.

Probably the most disgusting nation on earth. Barcelona should be ashamed of themselves with their Qatari sponsorship!

The more I think about it I agree. No point in stripping Russia as they can obviously handle it.

Qatar should lose it though. To USA/Canada (joint) or Australia.

They both should lose it, not just for the humanitarian issues, but the fact they won their bids on the back of bungs and backhanders. It's that black and white.

Guessing they must be yanks saying it?

I don't see how you can strip Russia of their world cup. Everybody that's hosted a world cup in the late 20 years had more then likely had to bribe to get it. At least Russia is a football nation.

Qatar just have no right having a World Cup

For me, Qatar have every right to host one. Just not the way this has all turned out.
