He'll still be in charge in 2026. Non starter.

Ridiculous if USA win it.

Next time it's in Europe whenever that may be, surely has to be England?

We'll never get it with the current bunch of corrupt crooks in charge, no matter how much better we are than any other bid. We have everything ready so it should be a no-brainer but money talks louder than common sense.

Why ?

The US may not be a footballing country per se, but they have the infrastructure. Their stadiums are bigger / better than the English counterparts.

I mean, I'd love it if the World Cup was hosted in England cause there would be a higher chance of me going there. But the US as a potential host ain't that bad.

Football has been becoming more popular there lately. Hosting a WC will give them a huge boost too. And the do have the required money, infrastructure and transport. All in all it would probably be hard to have a better organization than in the US.

Can't wait until we bid and get it for 2026! :1990_dancing.gif:

We have world class stadiums throughout every region of the country that have way more capacity than English stadiums (with only Wembley and Old Trafford able to compete). More capacity = more money = FIFA happy

Northeast:
MetLife Stadium (New York City area) - 82,500 capacity
Gillette Stadium (Boston area) - 68,756 capacity
Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia area) - 67,876 capacity (expandable to 69,194)

Mid-Atlantic:
M&T Bank Stadium (Baltimore area) - 71,008 capacity (expandable to 75,335)
Bank of America Stadium (Charlotte area) - 74,445 capacity
Potential New Stadium in DC by 2026 - most likely 75,000+ capacity

South:
AT&T Stadium (Dallas area) - 80,000 capacity (expandable to 105,000)
SunLife Stadium (Miami area) - 75,540 capacity (expandable to 80,000)
New Stadium in Atlanta - 71,000 capacity (expandable to 75,000)
NRG Stadium (Houston area) - 71,500 (expandable to 71,986)
Raymond James Stadium (Tampa Bay area) - 65,890 (expandable to 75,000)

Midwest:
Arrowhead Stadium (Kansas City area) - 76,416 capacity
Lucas Oil Stadium (Indianapolis area) - 63,000 capacity (expandable to 70,000)
Soldier Field (Chicago area) - 61,500 (expandable to 62,114)

West:
Sports Authority Field at Mile High (Denver area) - 76,125 capacity (expandable to 77,046)
New Stadium in LA Definitely by 2026 - most likely 75,000+ capacity
Levi's Stadium (San Francisco area) - 68,500 capacity (expandable to 75,000)
CenturyLink Field (Seattle area) - 67,000 capacity (expandable to 72,000)
University of Phoenix Stadium (Phoenix area) - 63,400 (expandable to 78,600)

And unlike South Africa, Brazil, Russia, and Qatar, we already have the stadiums built except for the Atlanta, LA, and DC ones, but Atlanta will be done by 2017, LA will have a new stadium by 2019 at the latest, and DC will most likely have a new stadium by 2023.

We could host a World Cup tomorrow and it'll be smoother than 99% of other ones. England's infrastructure is perfect for it.

England on the other hand already has its stadiums built with the infrastructure in place, expansion is a minor addition. FIFA may want that but when the grounds are only half full for North Korea vs Honduras, that doesn't reflect well. Also you lot over there can't even call the sport by its proper name. And the point made by Cripps was very valid, you just had it in 94, why should america get it again before the Home of Football?

Tbf, you're the ones who invented the word "soccer". Also, England is not the "Home of Football"; I'd agree if you said "Birthplace of Football".

Why should America get it?
-We already have the infrastructure (airports, roads, venues, hotels, restaurants, etc.) in place to handle millions of tourists.
-Other than China, we're the country that will bring in the most revenue for FIFA, and by a good margin at that. And once again, more money = FIFA happy.
-Football is growing at a rapid pace in America. Just like 1994 gave us that push, 2026 will be the last hurdle that eventually puts us into the elite tier of international football.
-I don't know if you know geography, but Honduras is relatively close to the United States; also, there is a significant Honduran population in America. No way will a Honduras match ever be "half full". And North Korea will hire Chinese people like they did in South Africa to fill those extra seats. Won't reflect well on England when Villa Park is only half full for North Korea vs. Honduras.
-Every match will be sold out and stadiums will be filled to capacity, or very well near it.
-I know our immigration policies are strict, but I can't imagine the same could be said for our visa policies.

Can see the USA matches being packed and much interest in them all around the country but they'll have what, 3 games possibly 4 depending on the draw and then the interest will die. Not a football country. Maybe the bigger nations might be able to garner up some interest but if USA aren't playing, the television ratings will probably be lower than an episode of I don't know days of our lives in sunset beach next to one tree hill or whatever those shows are called.

Of course the biggest objection is as I said, just had it in 1994 so shouldn't have it before england. France, italy, Germany, Spain have all had it since england did. Next time it's in Europe and hopefully that's in 2026 with batters ludicrous rotation system put to an end with his demise at the next fifa election then it has to be england. Can't see anyone else
