Arsenal have had a bid for Legia Warsaw starlet Krystian Bielik rejected.

It is understood the Gunners haven't met Legia's valuation for the 17-year-old defensive midfielder.

Bielik wants a move to the Emirates after spending a week in London prior to Christmas.

During the Pole's stay in the capital he was showed around the Gunners' training ground in London Colney.

Arsene Wenger is desperate to toughen up the soft core of his midfield and reckons Bielik could develop into an important player for the north London club.

Good signs. Can't wait to see him in action tbf. Looks far ahead in terms of physical development than Crowley & co.

I hate to say it but I think he would out-muscle most of our senior midfielders.

He's still relatively scrawlny but with height like his you don't necessarily have to have muscle mass to weights people. Sort of like Diaby can always tackle his man with no real strength there.

Hopefully he's as good as people are making out!

Our midfield prospects in the youth set up are unreal atm. Best at we've had in a long long long time. Although they're all technical ball playing midgets so im glad to see someone with some stature.

Don't know if anyone heard it but Jonkers said Crowley is as good a talent as he's worked with... quite a statement

Yep, he is looking likely to be our first signing of this window. Will be good to see how he develops.

Krystian Bielik. The 17-year-old Polish
midfielder is reported to have said: “I've made
a decision [to join Arsenal] and I'm not going
to change it.”
Sweet if it happens. Just a matter of fees now the press reckon.

Wenger on Krystian Bielik…
He is a young boy that we follow, yes. You see I gave you some information! We are not very close at the moment [to an agreement].

Rory Smith‏@RorySmithTimes
Reliably informed Dick Law will be in Warsaw tomorrow to try and finalise a deal to sign Krystian Bielik. Legia want £2.5m upfront. #afc
