Sin-bins to be discussed

Introducing sin-bins as a punishment for players will be considered by a new group advising Fifa on law changes.

The sin-bin system is being trialled in the Dutch amateur leagues and last month Uefa chief Michel Platini called for time penalties to replace cautions.

"I would make it like rugby, punishing the offender with 10 or 15 minutes out of the game," Platini said.

"Sin-bins have been mooted in the past - one would expect that it will be one of topics the new advisory panels take up."

Jonathan Ford, Welsh FA chief executive and IFAB member

The two new panels, one of ex-players and coaches and the other officials and experts, will first meet in March.

They will report to the International Football Association Board (IFAB) - the body made up of Fifa and the four British home associations - which makes the final decision on law changes.

The so-called 'triple punishment', when a player is sent off after conceding a penalty and is then suspended, as well as revisiting the offside laws, could also be on the agenda.

Jonathan Ford, the Welsh FA chief executive who sits on IFAB, said: "Sin-bins have been mooted in the past - one would expect that it will be one of topics the new advisory panels take up."

Traditionally, IFAB have been regarded as unwilling to radically amend the laws of football, and Ford indicated he expected that approach to continue.

These are going to be literal sin bins. They will be robotic and chase naughty players up and down the pitch.

Technology indeed.

f**k SEPP BLATTER

He's quite obviously after leaving a legacy. HE jumps on every tangible option. Sin bins are for rugby, if we let them start changing some of the most fundamental rules they'll end up ruining the game. The game needs to be simple enough to mimic by kids and adults the world over. What the fucks next, a red siren above the goal and rolling subs.

How about a field goal post behind the goal? That way after a goal is scored, they can have a chance at a field goal worth half a goal.

Why not, capital idea and i'm not just saying that as a qualified RFU official. Would teach those players like bale, young and ronaldo that you can't just get away with diving all the time. Though Stoke may be in trouble if it goes through.

Split the game into quarters
Introduce fights (1v 1 of course) punishable by sin bin
Cage matches
Ladder matches
Tea breaks every 15 minutes
The release of lions onto the pitch in the last 15 minutes + extra time
Expand on player restrictions by making it mandatory to field 2 under tens at any one time
Instead of penalties, we should have head coach dance offs
Extreme condition matches inc games in Qatar in summer, games in Siberia in winter, games in hurricane alley during hurricane season, at Guantanamo, anywhere in middle England right now

Make it happen Sepp

Sin bins are such a huge part of the dynamic in top flight rugby, The good teams make the most of the time with man advantage, and can cover when they're a man down.
A game can be changed by how a team deals with sin binning.

Difficult to decide lines between yellow card offence and sin binning, or sin binning and strait red.

professional fouls, like last defender bringing striker down might fal into that category, where a sending off is harsh.

A keeper bringing down the last man should be downgraded imo. A yellow will do. f**k sin bins, its just not football.

Except in football the team with a man down will just put 10 men behind the ball until the punishment finishes, whereas in rugby that's suicide.
