Malen was and still is distinctly average IMO. Currently Ismael Bennacer appears to be a much greater loss.

Unlike Malen, who struggles to accumulate game time in the Eredivisie, IB has been one of the best young players in the Serie A this season.

From yesterday -

Yeah Benacer is good. He was good in the youth ranks as well. Why did he leave?

He didn't feel he had the prospect of getting game time so left for (then Serie B outfit) Empoli.

Quickly sealed a spot in the first team, played a big part in Empoli's promition to the Serie A and has now become one of Andreazzoli's key players.

He’s physically quite small isn’t he? Am I right in thinking he had a first team appearance and got bullied?

He came on at Sheffield Wednesday in the league cup for Walcott who got injured after not warming up properly

I think Gnarby has found his niche really, the German league and it's style of football suits him to the ground. If he stayed do I think he hit the heights he has now, probably not.

With Ox, we got a great deal out of it. Ox will always be a hit and miss type player, he got a move to his boyhood club, took a wage cut and has done fine there. Sad to see him get a injury that's kept him out for a long time. I think he needed a change and unlike Walcott he didn't sit around and just picked up a wage. We got some good moments out of the lad, and his last season with us he showed glimpses of a very good player. But I don't think he's as big a loss as some do.

The only thing we missed when Ox left was someone who would drive forward and take on defenders. It mostly ended badly, so happy with the £35m. As for the question.....it’s Gnarbry by a mile!

For the record we should never have sold Gnabry, he showed more than Iwobi ever did. Another perplexing Wenger decision.

I'll never understand who thought It'd be a great idea to send him on loan to a team managed by Tony Pulis.

He looked solid and had good technique. The end product would have fallen into place naturally, never frustrated like Iwobi did. Buffoonery from the club on this one.
