CESC FABREGAS could be sold by Barcelona this summer to pay for a big rebuilding job at the Nou Camp - putting Arsenal on red alert.

The former Gunners midfielder is out of favour in Spain and was left on the bench for his side’s Champions League disaster against Bayern Munich in Germany.

He does not want to quit his boyhood club – but has fired the exit rumours by trying to buy a £5.4million flat in London.

Fabregas’ girlfriend Daniella Semaan gave birth to the couple’s daughter Lia earlier this month and the pair are looking into bringing her up in England.

Arsenal sold the midfielder, 25, to Barcelona for around £35m in 2011 – and would jump at the chance to re-sign him.

He is under contract until June 2016 but has his World Cup place with the Spain team to worry about and could be tempted by the prospect of regular football in the Premier League.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger wants to make a big splash in the summer.

And sources at Barcelona told the Daily Star Sunday: ”If an important offer for Cesc arrives we will study the situation."

Couple of articles on this, this morning and talk on twitter but who knows. He definitely doesn't seem to be getting on well at Barca lately and that must of hurt when he was on the bench in Munich. We have a buy back clause, why not test him!?

If he'll ever get out of Barcelona he'll end up here, but I will very surprised if it happens any time soon..

of all the rumours id love this one to be the one that comes true most. would love him back here.

diame is 3 million pounds. Jovetic and Fabregas , 50 million. should be the sort of money the board should put forward, but they'd rather pocket it.

-----------Jovestic
Cazorla Fabregas Walcott
-------Diame Wilshere

Quality.

I'd love to see that but I don't think it'll happen.

This would be my ideal signing. Still have a huge soft spot for Cesc.

I'd take him in a heartbeat. And if we had any sense we'd've inserted a clause saying we wouldn't pay a penny more than we sold him for.
Wouldn't surprise me if they still owe us some money from the sale anyhoo.

We can buy him back any time at the same price we sold him.

Then it should be a no-brainer. Especially as they probably owe at least two or three instalments.

I bet Barca and Cesc now come out and say the story's a load of tosh.
