The last OG.

11 years with us , he's been with the club as long as Bergkamp was.

He always have my respect for his Fa Cup Final goals and his 13/14 season but I don't put him up there as a legend for Arsenal, that word is thrown around far too easily for fan's these days. Far too many stop start seasons, very hit and miss and injury prone. I'm shocked Juventus went for him. Good lad, but him and his Agent were looking for a way out. Good luck to him.

One thing I'm glad about is that he'll finally win a League title next season. He deserves it.

Most of our "great" players have won League titles away from Arsenal in the Emirates era—van Persie, Cesc, Ozil, Alexis, Rosicky, etc.

Shame Santi and Sagna never won one. :(

Raul Sanllehi came out and defended the club's decision to withdraw Ramsey's contract offer. He said that the decision was made to keep the club's wage bill manageable and that the contract would have been de-stabilising for the club in both medium-term and long-term. He also said the club's hands were tied because Ramsey was on the last year of his contract.

What do I make of this? Well, I think it's brilliant. I'm glad they've made a difficult decision for the right reason. They haven't allowed sentiment override prudence. After all, giving Ramsey a contract worth £200,000 per week is the worst possible decision in this scenario. Also, I like the fact Sanllehi stresses that it's unacceptable to let players run down their contracts. That's the type of thinking I can support.

In the end, not offering Ramsey a new contract is a ruthless, pragmatic choice. However, that is the kind of decision-making this club needs going forward. As much as losing Ramsey may hurt some Gooners, we're better off for it in the long term.

Yeah we're definitely good at making difficult decisions when that decision is to not spend any money.

When you have limited resources like we do, the best we can do is allocate those resources properly. Our wage bill is poorly balanced as it is (with Ozil, Mkhitaryan, Aubameyang and Lacazette being the four highest earners), and giving Ramsey the contract would have made things worse.

Trust me, we need to spend that £100,000 per week much more effectively.

I agree Ramsey wasn't WC, but he didn't have to be to still be valuable for us. After coming back from injufy in 13/14, he has been generally available to play. That's a big factor when you consider that other CMs like Ox, Cazorla, Wilsh and Rosicky were usually one bad game away from a months-long injury.

I bet Juventus will loan him out after the end of the season. He could have been perfect for Allegri but he has no place in Sarri's football.
