Nicely summed up on Reddit: Ramsey is decent for 30 mins, becomes his usual awful self for the next 3-4 games, gets injured, returns, rinse, repeat.

So, like at Arsenal.

Exactly - his career with us was dreadful, with a few highlights.
He had 18 months where he showed he really could be a world-class player, but a combination of injuries and a poor attitude on the pitch held him back. Was often disappointed at his over complicated approach to the game - e.g. the hollywood pass when a more simple pass was a better option - and his varying levels of effort in chasing back. Some days a workaholic, other days, not at all.
Can't take away those 18 months though - he was superb in that period and he showed up big time in a couple of FA Cup finals.

Precisely.

After his stellar 13/14, he failed to replicate any consistency or class. But he will always live with the Drogba-syndrome.

While Drogba was world class, he has Henry reputation, minus the talent. It's because of the cup goals and his amazing record in finals. Ramsey's FA Cup winning goals will always place him higher than his talent warrants.

It's also why Henry isn't the outright 3rd or 4th greatest player of the past 30 years. If Henry had scored and we'd have won the UCL in 2006, he would probably be placed 3rd behind Messi and Ronaldo as outright GOATs.

Performing at the biggest stage is what lingers in the memory even if decades go by. Ramsey has those two cup final winners. History will be kind to him.

I'd have him back if he didn't miss so many games to injuries every single season.

He turns 30 this year and we need youth in the middle of the pitch, not to mention someone not made of glass.

I love Ramsey but that ship has sailed.

He'd be lucky to get in their midfield over Mark Noble tbh. Unless you meant the bench since that's where Jack sits?

I'd take him back - but not for anywhere near the wages he's on.

Can't believe people would want another 30+ player on the downward slide, he's on 20m a year until 2023 so anyone taking him on will need to find 60m for a player who will then be 33 and have no value - that sounds like another great Arsenal plan NOT

Like Bale why should Ramsey take a paycut? He left for the money so does anyone think his motives have changed that much? ... even at 50% so 200k a week that's still 30m over three years, wouldn't that be far better spent developing two or three teenagers rather than as a retirement pension for yet another has-been? ... Thanks for the memories Aaron but no thanks.

Can you imagine if Henry had scored in the CL final and won and also scored in the WC final and won that too, both in the same year?

Damn.

He would probably hold the status R9 currently does and be the consensus greatest striker ever.

He should be anyway tbh. If he played for Utd he probably would've.

Nevermind ey, we got to enjoy his goatness for almost 10 years so I'm more than happy. Shame for him though.

I really dont understand what Juve saw in Ramsey.

He is an average player and is not going to be a difference maker for a team like Juventus that is looking for CL glory.

Juventus' 30-year-old Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey could return to Arsenal who are struggling to attract elite talent and may turn to their former player. (Eurosport)

Lol. Struggling to attract lite talent and yet link us with an elite talent in Ramsey.

Has to happen

At this point, he'd be our best CM by a mile.....for the 20 or so games he'd actually be fit for.
