This has nothing to do with Emery.

Emery literally came to the club saying Ramsey and Auba were the two key players in his plans:

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/jul/12/aaron-ramsey-arsenal-unai-emery-important

“I am very happy with him,” Emery said of Ramsey. “Every training is with the ambition I want, working with quality and the competitive spirit I want. I want to work with him. His future is a question for the player and club. I said to Ivan, Raúl and Sven [Gazidis, Sanllehí and Mislintat, the collective dealing with contracts and transfers] he’s an important player for me.”

Lose a few games and this place becomes a cesspool of conspiracy bullshit.

If DM is to be believed, then Emery's behind cancellation of Ramsey contract talks.
He thinks others can do what Ramsey does, or better!

He's another one who seems to pick up a lot of injuries. @starmandb how many games has he missed with injuries each season in the last few years?

He's not reliable enough to be a top earner imo

He scored big and important goals for us. That's what matters. A big game player.

This is exactly the point. His form record and injury record arent good enough to justify top money. If he's in a purple patch he's great but right now is his first purple patch for what, four years?

Agenda much? ... this was a Wonger/Gazidis feck up ... nothing Emery could do when the board refused to pay the salary as our budget had been blown on the dross we already had.

Ramsey has major issues with fitness and consistency (probably one impacted the other) that makes him a huge risk ... but he is a big game player and that's something the squad seriously lacks.

IF

We replace him with a reliable player of similar quality then it makes perfect sense, the problem is that due to previous incompetence, keeping him on a new 60m+ salary contract, or buying a replacement for 60m, that puts us in a financial hole either way ...

Club losing its identity one player at a time. First Wilshere and now Ramsey.

What identity was that? One of a club with all young, inexperienced, injury-prone players or the Barca feeder club identity? We definitely aren't better off with Ramsey leaving, but I don't know where you were going with your comment.

Ramsey graduated from Cardiff's academy, not ours. He was already playing senior football for them before we came in.

Maybe he just meant cause he's British.

However, we only had a British core for a short period. Before that people were blaming Arsenal for the English national teams lack of youth development because we had too many foreign players. :dizzy:
