In other news, the Scottish Football Association bullies amateur Queen's Park into selling them Hampden for a paltry sum by threatening to leave them by taking away Scotland matches and leave the amateur club with the running costs that they can't afford.

The Government paid for redevelopment in the 90s on top of the original build back in the Victorian age when the rich people were a bit more philanthropic.

Hamden needs major work doing to it, Queens Park obviously cannot do this and the SFA can’t unless they own it without causing uproar with other clubs

Since 2016, Romelu Lukaku has scored 32 goals for Belgium.

That is 32 international goals in 35 appearances.

Define big country.

Also big name =/= big team.

The Italy of the last few years are a prime example of this.

Also worth noting Belgium rarely face true elite teams because of the simple fact that pot 1 teams can not face one other before the KO stage of a tournament.

Since 2016 Belgium have competed with only 2 true elite teams in Brazil and France. England are already a tier lower, so that's only three 'big countries' against whom he hasn't scored, even though he was a star performer for Belgium against Brazil.

Still, if it was straight forward to score 32 international goals within less than 2-year period, Lukaku wouldn't be the only player on the planet to do it.

I too have always been one of the guy's staunchest critics, but his form for Belgium over the last 2 years has been nothing short of remarkable.

The man has scored more goals for Belgium in within a space of less than 2 years, than Shearer has in his entire international career ffs.

Can live with the odd dodgy touch if he continues to score at this rate.

it was a complete no-brainer, UEFA were never going to go for a terrorist riddled, knife wielding 3rd world sh*thole that isn't even European.

More of a chance to gratuitously mention the war in 2024 when England invade Germany again then!
