Sterling ain't a guy who makes things out of nothing on the regular and he isn't a guy who drags the game and makes others better, that's my problem with him. He's worse than Ozil for needing top players around him.

Liked him at Liverpool in the SAS but soon as Pep leaves Sterling will be average again at club level cos he won't have that manager and may not always have these top players around.

Can't argue with his form at club level but he's beyond awful for England.

hes englands best player

Miss the World cup?

And pretty much any England game over last 2 years?

when ur best p;ayer is merking at club level - which is tougher competition - yet isnt replicating it at international level then you have to blame the manager

kane is also suffering under southgate, his goals masked poor performances throughout the world cup, dele alli was also trash. when ur best players at the WC were the keeper and those heavily involved in set pieces its serious cause for concern

So sack Southgate :dontknow:

Didn't know he'd been manager for the whole 3 years between Sterling's INT goals tho?

i agree we should sack southgate, ive said the new deal is a horrific idea

its not great but we all know what hes capable of, Sterling's only 23 and only just hit the switch over the last two years. hes on the brink of being one of the worlds best players, it'd be a waste to have a non-elite manager in charge of the likes of him, kane, alli, sancho etc

Could have 10 Sterling's and Kane's anyway, that midfield is still terrible. We just don't have quality CM's.

Barkley the only one in form and deserving, even though I don't massively rate him.

Eric Dier is the first midfielder to genuinely make me feel sick

Big lummox is an awful footballer, we’re genuinely better off sticking someone like Winks or Lewis Cook in there or at least someone who can pass a ball

Midfield did an ok job at the world cup, we missed someone that could make soemthing happen though, hopefully sancho will be that guy

They did an ok job running around because that's all they can do.

Not one bit of skill or vision between them, Winks probably the best passer and that says it all. Rest all runners and destroyers.

If you cannot name a replacement it’s not a shocking selection, that’s pretty obvious to anyone with an IQ higher than that of a slug

Hasn't Kane's record for England under Southgate been excellent?

Won the golden boot at the World Cup Ffs

If there was someone else who could score, we might have reached the final. But Sterling was and still is awful for England.

No-one can genuinely think he had a good World Cup, his performances were woeful masked by the fact he bagged against Tunisia, Panama and Colombia

Tunisia had a 100 stone Wahib Khazri up top ffs
