If only, when Auba joined Barca they were 5th. They secured a CL place and finished 2nd by the time Auba joined.

Oh dear.

Tells you all you need to know.

Once again hindsight proving that Mikel made the right decision in getting rid.

Tells me he's planning on using them together? :dontknow:

Says to me what i've been saying all season, Auba is not suited to playing up front on his own.

It's Barcelona. Xavi used to play with a stacked front line of stars. They bought Henry and stuck him out wide when they still had Eto'o, Ronaldinho and Messi was breaking through. There were years where they had Ibra, then bought David Villa to then stick Messi up front as the false 9. They even had Cesc playing the false 9 role.

Going to be embarrassing for Arteta and Edu when Auba wins the CL with Barca.

And within months they've signed another striker :dontknow:

Signed as a striker but now shafted to the wing. Within months of signing him they've got another striker.

Confirms Auba's time was done as a striker.

Mikel made the right decision then :dontknow:

Dear, please stop embarrassing yourself. He’s the third highest goal scorer for a Jan transfer in Liga history. Lewa wasn’t bought because Auba failed. He was bought to forge the kind of front three Xavi got used to at Barca’s peak.

Barca and Auba got the better end of the deal. We just missed out on a Top 4 finish.

We rallied for a top 4 finish because Auba left. Had he been here draining our team and resources we would have finished lower. He was done in the PL :dontknow:

We rallied...but we didn't make it and fell flat again. Auba left and went to a team that made a CL place. We can speculate where we would have ended up if Auba had stayed but we know for a fact what happened when we left. Barca got the better end of the deal and we fell short.

Barca play in a worse league. Them getting top 4 is no surprise at all. In fact, it's a given every year.

As for Auba himself, the Spanish league is slower paced and as it's worse in quality than the PL, it suits grandad Auba better.

His time was done in the premier league.

Great and if you feel that way there is nothing to feel bitter over. Move past it if you feel we got a better deal. Personally, in an ideal scenario, Arteta would have given Auba a slap on the wrist, motivated him to find his form and we'd finish in the Top 4. Or at least get a good fee from Barca and we could have put money towards a player that could have helped us win top 4.
