Can’t wait til he’s gone, worse legacy here than Ramsey at this rate.

But were Barcelona ever in for him?
Never saw any evidence to suggest Barcelona were ever in for him.

There were only ever rumours and Auba played on it.
That's why I think we should have - at best - offered him a 1 year deal on the same money.

Re-signing Auba was absolutely the right thing to do. He was a premier league golden boot, scoring for fun and our only world class player at the time. The mistake was not sorting out Laca’s situation. We should have replaced him with a younger CF last summer. Had we done that we would not be dependent on Auba like we are. It would have allowed him to play on the left and we would also have had another option for goals. I can’t understand the logic of letting Laca in to the final year of his contract with no deal.

Just seen something about Newcastle wanting Auba on loan but we have to pay part of his wages too.

Erm, no.
We now know for absolute certain it was the wrong thing to do.
There are mitigating circumstances at the time for making the wrong decision for sure, but it remains the wrong decision.
As for the 'play on the left' comment, SMH. Last season he played on the left and was rubbish - and the noise was he should be playing in the middle. This season, play him on the left as he isn't a CF. :dontknow:

Yup

Contract signing was never a mistake.

Best player. One of the best strikers in the world. A no brainer.

In hindsight, probably not a good thing as we've seen but we can't predict the future.

Some of us didn't need hindsight and were proven to be correct - whilst having to put up with nonsense from fanboys who turned out to be wrong.

If his career is over at Arsenal he comes in behind Giroud in the list of strikers ranked at Arsenal - as the numbers show.

"Some of us" lol

You didn't want him to sign cos you hate him. f**k knows why. Pretty clear you're not an arsenal fan though so that explains things.

You had no idea he'd turn out like this after contract signing so to think you have some gift of foresight like you have the sword of Thundera of something.

You didn't want him to sign cos you hate the guy. Nothing else so I suggest keeping quiet when actual Arsenal fans talk instead of Spud trolls giving it large.

Need I mention the cup semi and final? But but you're an arsenal fan. How about finishing top scorer and just one off the season after? But but Ings and nketiah are better

Dear God

You hated on him for ages and now to your delight and to Arsenal's detriment, you are ecstatic this has happened.

Another reason you're a Spud.

Credit to you for fooling your cronies but they aren't the brightest and we including you have had a good laugh at them.

But arsenal fans on here have been laughing at you for longer.

Long may it continue

I said exactly why I didn't want us to give him the contract at the time and everything I said turned out to be correct.
Seems it is a little hard for you to accept

Your trolling in the post above seems to be your common outburst, getting more and more regular, and you've done it way too much.
Control yourself.

Think this Auba saga is not over yet. I think both the manager( and Edu) and Auba will see a compromise, as a rejuvenated Auba is a win win for both. Management knows shifting him will be difficult and Auba knows sitting in isolation for about 2 yrs will mean his career effectively over.

Auba is the fastest to reach 50 goals in the clubs history. Ahead of Henry by four games. He did it in just 79 games. He also did it at a time when our midfield was decimated of creative players. So not sure where your comment of him coming in behind Giroud comes from or fanboys talking nonsense. He was a marque player when we got on our knees to resign him. Unfortunately a combination of hubris from him and immature management from Arteta has brought us to a point where he has to go.

Top scorer in the league and one off the following season. Giroud didn't come close

But not better than Giroud apparently
