Former Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry has already earned himself a move back to a Champions League club less than a year after leaving the Gunners, with reports that he’s heading to Hoffenheim.

The 21-year-old had a superb first season with Werder Bremen in 2016/17, scoring eleven goals in total to attract some talk that Arsenal could be keen to re-sign him this summer or at a later date.
Long regarded as a top talent at the Emirates Stadium, Gnabry struggled with injuries and eventually lost his place in Arsene Wenger’s first-team squad, though he now looks back to his best and on course for a fine career.

Gnabry’s form back in the Bundesliga also attracted some rumours of interest from Bayern Munich, but Sport Bild now claim his move to Hoffenheim is all but done.
Hoffenheim finished fourth in the league in the season just gone, earning themselves a Champions League qualifying place that could justify Gnabry’s decision to leave north London to better himself.
Having earned the first-team football he craved, the Germany international may now be playing at the top level in Europe next season while Arsenal have to settle for the Europa League after finishing 5th in the Premier League.

Another poor Wenger/club decision to not have put a buy back clause. We could have a german international player for peanuts now, who could easily rotate with Özil and Sanchez and get enough playing time.

He would be our third best attacking midfielder/winger after Alexis and Özil. Send Iwobi out on loan. And give Gnabry all Europa League, cup games and some PL games. It makes sense to me, as all our attacking midfielders bar Alexis and Özil are awful. A decent backup is needed.

He seems to have done well at a much lower level than us

But do we forget how shit he was here before?

He had a long injury and had Wenger and Pulis as coaches. It's a good enough excuse to me. I would like to give him a second chance

Wouldn't mind him but if hes the best of what we get which would be likely, its a disappointment

With Hoffenheim playing European football let's see if he can make a similar impact he made at Bremen. He still has a bit of an injury spell in the latter half of the season for Bremen so I'm still skeptical...

He was injured for practically 1/3 or more of the second half of the season...

Yeah I agree but OX is better so he'd 4th but at least he'd be an upgrade on Walcott, Campbell, Wilshere, Iwobi. He loves the club knows the system etc it's a no brainier really.

If we don't buy him back now cheapish a year from now hoffenheim will be getting 30-40M for him from a big team.

I see Ox's future at RWB, if we carried on playing with 3 in the back.
I heard the release clause is about 8m pounds, so it's peanuts for a player his quality. I don't think Wenger will sign him though.
There are still talks that Bayern has signed an agreement with Gnabry befor his move to Bremen, that they have first right to sign him, if he'd leave them.
