Cheick Tiote

Arsenal warned Newcastle star will cost them £20m

Arsenal are keen on Newcastle midfielder Cheick Tiote, but refuse to stump up £20million.

Tiote, who joined Newcastle from Dutch side FC Twente in 2010 for a bargain £3.5million, has earned rave reviews in the North East and signed a new long-term deal last year.
That tied him to St James' Park to 2017 but Gunners boss Arsene Wenger still hopes to land Tiote as he attempts to appease unrest among the Emirates faithful, who are set to see another star in Robin Van Persie leave the club this summer.
The North London side, however, will have to move quickly steal a march on Manchester United and Chelsea, who are also on the trail of the Ivory Coast star.
Chelsea are long-time admirers of Tiote, while it’s been an open secret that Sir Alex Ferguson has been looking to add to his midfield options.
All three clubs have baulked at the £20m price tag placed on him but Arsenal hope to tempt Newcastle into selling him for a much lower figure.

15 million sounds alright because he's a PL player and young. For 20 million, we may as well bid for Fellaini.

He he.

Why are we scouting the world for DMs when we have Song, Frimpong, Coquelin etc?
And why would Chelcunts be interested in one when they have Essien and that nob end Obi Mikel?

Essien's an old man now and his knees have gone. Romeu is too young so that leaves Obi Mikel who is being played as a DM even though he's better used more advanced.

On a completely separate note to all those saying he's not worth £15m I'll wager you'll be the same folk crying out how Chelsea paid big money for Tiote whilst Wenger kept his hands in his pockets.
If you think this guy isn't worth more than ten million then you haven't seen him play. I'd say he's a. Wetter option than M'Vila and is ready for the big time.

Persoanlly I think Coquelin is the way forward mate.

With prices being banded about for the DM's we're interested in, it just makes it look more and more likely that whichever one comes in will be Song's replacement. Song's certainly showed more attacking intent recently, but I'd still rather play someone like Jack or Arteta next to an out-and-out DMF than the new box-to-box Song.
