It's threads like this that make me question people's perception of players I haven't watched. We've got people confidently stating that Tiote is better than Arteta, clearly so, so wrong - we've also got people commenting on the 15 year old Ecuadorian left back who plays in the Dutch 4th division that Caughtoffside have linked us to with confidence on their quality as a player. Dear youtube scouts, anyone can use google.

Tiote isn't more 'technically' gifted than Arteta just as Mertesacker isn't more 'technically' gifted than Vermaelen.

The thing is, sometimes there are other attributes required to build a team! Its more a case of who would work best alongside Ramsey.

e.g. Keown was better than Bould IMO but I'd still pick Bould next to Adams all day long!!!

Physicality only gets you 70% of the way there. The rest is ability.

Tiote has no ability. If tiote is a viable option, we might as well just save the money and go for anyone with an engine who likes to collect yellow cards.

Arteta with legs easily better than tiote but right now Arteta is a shadow chaser who looks tidy making those six yard perfectly square passes against lowly oppositions.

i cant believe people actually want tiote

he's a poor mans flamini ffs

cant pass

cant tackle

cant read the game

charges around like a mad man and is never in position

i'd take a 90 year old arteta ahead of him tbf, if tiote is the best we can do i would rather play chambers there

Tiote to Arsenal? Definitely the most disappointing transfer news in a long time, don't do it AW.

A three man midfield of flamini, tiote and frimpong against Chelsea could actually get the desired result lol

if we're looking to finish the game with 8 men on the field, then yes, we'd get the desired result with those 3.
