Carlos Vela

Vela could be off to Real Sociedad according to reports.

Kike Marin, a Sports journalist has said that Sociedad have bid €3.5m + 50% sell on for Vela. Sociedad rep flew to London but returned without an answer until after Euro's. Also Arsenal do have other offers for Vela, but Sociedad have pretty much agreed personal terms with his agent.

Yeah. That deal would do for me.
I want Carl Jenkinson back in a Arsenal shirt next season.

Shouldn't he be going for a little more than that given the season he's just had ? 4th top scorer in Spain wasn't he ?
And he's only a young guy, for the price their quoting you'd struggle to get a decent championship or division 1 player.

Probably can't afford much more.

Regardless, if the 50% sell on proves to be true (probably lower than that) then it's win win anyway.

Hes a good technical striker and Im surprised he never made it. Still remember him against Shef Utd a few years back, doing a passable Messi impersonation.

Vela > Chamakh

I think so at least.

The lad looked suited to a WF role but never actually took to it. I don't know what role he played at Sociedad, but I always felt that he couldn't succeed at Arsenal unless he played as the more advanced of two strikers... like Theo really!

He's still a talent, and I agree with GG, £3.5m doesn't seem enough. He's pobably cheaper than he should be due to not actually proving himself in the Prem. More to do with lack of opportunities of course, but "achieving f**k-all" and not forcing his way into the squad is what it comes down to... whether that's fair or not.

Mate if you think £3.5m aint enough, you'll be aghast to know it's actually €3.5m which equates to about £2m.
