Everytime he joins a new club, he gets a new signing bonus.
Wenger might have been right, eventually transfer fees will be scrapped in a similar vein to US sports where the bigger the player the bigger the contract.

Should have happened years ago. Either that or salary/transfer caps.

Definitely one thing we Americans do right.

I think so. But seems so many are afraid to take on any type of "Americanisms" as they would say in football.
It would breed more loyalty in the sport, more parity, you wouldn't just have two team leagues like Spain, or heck 1 team leagues like Germany and Italy. And most importantly, the way Arsenal is run, we'd probably benefit from it more so than others.

You miss the fundamental problem ....
The NFL is a unique American only sport with less than 1,700 pro players ... Football is a worldwide sport with over 50,000 pro players ... with the NFL salary cap the players can either accept it or not play .... however if the EPL implemented a salary cap then France, Spain, Germany, China, Russia could all just pay a little bit more and the top players would all move ... unless every major footballing nation agreed to an identical salary cap it just wouldn't work ... football's sporting dinosaurs can't even agree on what size the pitch should be ... and that's before you even mention European Court of Justice which rules on FFP, the different national tax rates, the different employment legislation, etc. .... with all those problems to overcome a 'hard cap' like the USA is and always will be just a mirage ... a soft cap, like the one already applied to the EPL, where clubs can only spend a certain percentage of income on salary is as good as you'll get, the problem with that is whilst it protects all clubs from financial miss-management and sugar daddy takeovers, it by it's very nature favors the clubs with the highest incomes ....
