Tbh, I’ve gotta respect the guy for this. How many of you would tear up £20m because you thought it was the right thing to do for you and the club to move on? None of the other useless ***** in the team have had the grace to do so.

Yeah terrible signing and all that (that’s on the manager and people that signed him) but unlike half our squad he’s happy to forego 2 years of pay he’s due, so credit where credits due.

I’d like to think we’ll learn our lesson, but I doubt it somehow.

Just shows Arteta lives in a fantasyland.

Credit to Willian. When It's all said and done, going to have a better legacy at this club than Ozil.

That's character. Didn't want to bleed the club dry and sit on the bench wasting time. He has done us a favour.

Not many players of his professional calibre left. I can't see many players doing what he's just done
Invincibility lies in the defence; the possibility of victory in the attack.

Relatively decent ending to an absolute shitshow, but classy gesture from the man. Plenty of others stealing a living at the club and as said, can't think of too many other players who would write off such a sum.
Good old Arsenal, we're proud to say that name

Classy.

Good luck, Willian. You were duped. So were we. At least, you made millions here.

Kind of unprecedented if true. Didn't go the 95% wage subsidized loan route like others would have. Good luck to him at Corinthians.

One wonders what was going through his head when he saw Chelsea lift the CL and remembers he said no to a 2 year deal.

Great news!

It was a good message from him and well done to him for writing off his contract.
Wise words here:
"I hope it teaches some people that they should not be so quick to pass judgement and create bad environments to make themselves feel important"
