TORRES: £753,600 per goal …UPDATED…

Postby UFGN » Wed Feb 16, 2011 5:35 pm

Transfer fee: £50,000,000

Wages over five years @ £170,000 per week: £44,200,000

(£94,200,000)

Expenditure per goal based on 25 per season: (realistic, I think, maybe a little gernerous) £753,600

(Not including insurence, employers' NI contributions or goal bonuses.)

How much did we pay for Van Persie? lol

£2.75m for RvP

Probably on over £100k per year now as his contract was renewed quite recently :dontknow:

If he could stay fit it could possibly be considered the best bit of business... ever! 15 league apprearances this season, 10 goals, 5 assists. He either creates or scores in every league match. Name another striker that's doing that!

Name me another striker in the Prem who has scored 10 goals from January to now?

Oh wait, you can't as RvP was the first player to do it

Torres is a good striker, but not £50m good, i would say given the fact he is injury prone, his value is exactly the same as when Liverpool bought him.

Tbh, Chelsea could have done a lot better.

"best bit of business" might not be right. Touré was bought for £150k and sold for £16m

Anyway. At first I thought that this wasn't that surpising. But looking at Villa's goals for Barca, or Ronaldo for Madrid... they're earning their money. Can't say the same for Torres.

I think the most expensive goals must come curtesy of Ibrahim-a-bitch in a Barca shirt. 40m Euros and Eto (about £70m altogether?).

Anelka bought for nominal fee sold for in excess of £23m.

Now that's what I call business!

But it is early days yet. Torres may well turn out to be a good buy. If he gets fit and has a run of games he'll be back to somewhere near his best.

Indeed.
He paid for our new training facilities with enough left over to buy Davor Suker and Thierry Henry.
Probably could've made do with just Henry though...... ;)

Fernando, on behalf of all Arsenal fans I would like to wish you a happy one year anniversary at Chavland. You have certainly proven all your doubters wrong. What incredible value for money you have turned out to be.
