@afcstuff: Arsenal wanted both Raphinha & Lisandro Martinez, but felt Leeds & Ajax were using their interest to drive an auction & were adamant not to become embroiled in a bidding war or were never going to pay over the odds. [@RyanTaylorSport]

Walked away and turned our attention to Zinchenko and Paqueta. Good decision making by the club.

I think the vultures will be circling Arsenal on deadline day in hope of a picking up a freebie.

They're selling FdJ for £60m at least. We're holding out for £5m each for Bellerin and Torreira

Arsenal transfer news: Contact made with £55m star after Mudryk blo

Arsenal have responded to seemingly missing out on Mykhaylo Mudryk by reigniting their interest in Raphinha in the last few hours, according to a report from Sport Italia.

Raphinha Arsenal

It is a big setback for Arsenal. The Gunners will be looking to make the kind of signings in this window which will boost their hopes of an unlikely title win. And Mudryk looked to have the potential to make a big impact.

Arsenal back in for Raphinha
But it seems that Edu has wasted little time to identify his next target. In fact, contact has already reportedly been made.

Raphinha Arsenal
According to a report from Sport Italia, Arsenal want Raphinha. And they have reached out to find out whether a deal for the Brazilian will be possible.

The Gunners wanted the winger in the summer. However, he ended joining Barcelona in a £55 million deal (via Sky Sports).

Unfortunately, his time in Catalonia has not exactly gone to plan. The 26-year-old has only started seven times in La Liga, and provided two goals and two assists.

His time with Barca is yet to really get going. However, he would be an amazing signing if Arsenal could bring him to the Emirates. He is unlikely to cost anything like what Mudryk will cost Chelsea.

And, unlike the 22-year-old, he is proven in the Premier League. He was ‘unbelievable‘ for Leeds during a near two-year spell at Elland Road. No single player did more to keep the Whites in the top-flight last season.
