LOL @ reopening a dormant ex-player thread to bash him....only to have to comically backpedal to "Barca play in a poor league".

So poor that Lewa went public to trash Bayern in order to force a move there.

Aubameyang scored a brace and an assist at the Bernabeu, home of the LL and CL champions. No Barca player in over 50 years has managed that on his Clasico debut. Maybe Lewa will, but that should be expected considering he's probably the world's #1 CF.

This is why having a mad agenda to support a mediocre manager is a bad look

You end up saying things like Spain is a weak league

This is why I have zero respect for people who prop up managers or individual players instead of simply supporting the club. They are, to a man, childish, boring and obsessive.

He couldn't cut it in the PL anymore so moved to an easier league :dontknow:

And within months they've signed another striker :dontknow:

Barca and Auba got the better end of the deal. We just missed out on a Top 4 finish.

We rallied for a top 4 finish because Auba left. Had he been here draining our team and resources we would have finished lower. He was done in the PL :dontknow:

We rallied...but we didn't make it and fell flat again. Auba left and went to a team that made a CL place. We can speculate where we would have ended up if Auba had stayed but we know for a fact what happened when we left. Barca got the better end of the deal and we fell short.

Barca play in a worse league. Them getting top 4 is no surprise at all. In fact, it's a given every year.

As for Auba himself, the Spanish league is slower paced and as it's worse in quality than the PL, it suits grandad Auba better.

His time was done in the premier league.

Great and if you feel that way there is nothing to feel bitter over. Move past it if you feel we got a better deal. Personally, in an ideal scenario, Arteta would have given Auba a slap on the wrist, motivated him to find his form and we'd finish in the Top 4. Or at least get a good fee from Barca and we could have put money towards a player that could have helped us win top 4.

Wasn't the first time he'd stepped out of line so he got what he deserved :dontknow:

Former Arsenal and Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, 33, would prefer to stay at Barcelona than return to the Premier League with Chelsea. (Sport, via Metro)

Barcelona want a fee in the region of £23m (€28m) for Aubameyang, who joined them on a free transfer in February. (Metro via Gerard Romero)

Imagine if they got that much

Chelsea willing to pay £15m

Crazy that we let him go for free.

Yeah, looks like this is happening. Tuchel wants him and they aren't linked with any other strikers currently. Xavi wants him too, but Chelsea are apparently doubling what he makes there.

Turns out that out of favour players can be sold for a fee. Word to Edu

I don't care. We've got better.

Chelsea would prefer to have either Jesus or Martinelli. And that's a fact. Young and exciting beats elderly and on the way out any day

I hope so. Personally, I would want him to stat at Barca because he is a good influence on gyys like Dembele, who's redeemed himself a lot since auba joined.

They have about 25 G+A between them in half a season, and Dembele signed a new deal when it looked certain that he'd be off. If they want to drive around in Ferraris, fair f**ks to them.

and tbh i still love him for what he did when he was with us. Bit like with Giroud while he wasn't nearly as good.

Auba has maybe 2 years left max at the top level whereas Gabby's time is now Martinelli should be a top level player for at least another 8-10 years!

The players liked him but he is who he is i'd say. All throughout his career there has been training ground lateness issues in regards to secret trips to fashion events and so on. He likes to party, maybe a little too much. The players don't mind because when he's on the pitch and even when he finally arrives to training hes top quality despite his shit time keeping.

Under Arteta's overly strict regime he decided to axe him and that was sadly that, it was handled like total shit as shown in the All of Nothing Doc.

overly strict?

i dunno. some basics shouid be expected when yer getting paid millions.

fwiw.. Auba DOES seem like a friendly guy... probably quite likeable... but more was expected of a captain.

he was NOT TOP QUality for the last 18 months or so iirc

£15M deal.

6 months after we let him go for free.

Got to hope the club at least had a sell on clause.
