I wanted a draw, that was so frusttrating by Germany, they just didn't have the quality up front. They had enough possession but couldn't do much with it in the final third.

France win

Did what they had to do

This might be the worst German side in decades. Worse than 2000-2004? Possible. At least that horror team reached the World Cup final in 02. this one is so bad

First games are always difficult to judge a team by, nobody wants to lose.

It's clear France and Germany will make it through this group.

Germany need to refresh parts of their squad. Hummel and that idiot Muller are past their best. France looked so much more youthful and lively.

Not sure what's more disturbing: the biting or the chest rub?

And yet despite the OG, Hummels was probably their best defender and Muller was alright up top, should've put that header on target at least.

Gnabry was poor but it's the midfield that is too old and slow, one ball past them and the defence at in trouble.

The own goal was unfortunate. But there’s no way Hummels can keep up with the likes of Mbappe running at him. Germany looked leggy and yet they have such fine young players available. Time for Low to leave and someone new to give them a fresh look.

Well he is leaving and Flick will be taking over. In fairness to Low he did ditch Hummels but realised Sule and co also aren’t good enough. They just don’t have the squad at the moment compared to what they had for the last 10-15 years.

I don’t think Hummels or Muller we’re the problem yesterday but do agree they are part of the overall weakness. Kroos is done but was still the only one in midfield moving the ball. Gundo was a shell of his city form, no creativity without Ozil Reus and Gotze that they used to have. Just decent to good players who mostly need support to get goals. Gnabry and Sane the only real hope for creating a chance by themselves and the former was poor yesterday.

Werner came off the bench to do f**k all as usual as well. A squad of nearly players who are not quite top level or past it players out for one last hurrah.
