Ok, Milan's out of the way...now back to premier league...
i can see Wenger giving van persie a run out for this match, probably as a sub...
3 points is probably likely barring any cup hangover...

Arsenal travel to Wigan on Sunday just five days after the stunning win over Milan in the San Siro.

A win on Sunday would be classed just as important as the win over Milan, although it probably won’t make the history books it’s still a massive game for Arsenal.

Wenger has pointed out the consistency and desire of his players this season - whatever the venue as Arsenal travel to the north-west knowing this will be a totally different game compared to Milan.

Arsenal have seen their advantage over Manchester United at the top of the Premier League cut to just one point in recent weeks. In fact, there was a concern that the Emirates Stadium side may be wobbling when they traveled to Italy on Monday. However they came back with a win so uplifting that the rest of Arsenal’s season might be able to ride upon it.

With the squad looking a little thin every player is going to have to fight for one another. Abou Diaby (calf) and Theo Walcott (thigh) have both been added to the long injury list although Arsenal have been greeted by the good News that Robin van Persie has recovered from an injury that has kept him sidelined for a couple of months. Kolo Toure (calf) and Alex Song (knee) have a minor possibility of coming back. Eduardo (broken leg) and Tomas Rosicky (hamstring) definitely miss out.

Wigan have been struggling against the drop all season. However two wins and a draw in their last four games have put some daylight between them and the drop zone. They are up to 14th, their highest position since the start of October.

This will defiantly be a test of maturity from the Arsenal youngsters but one I can see them passing.

Whether it be AC Milan in the Champions League or Wigan in the Premier League one thing is for sure Arsenal will want to win.

if we get a win, and win in style, we have all the momentum back in our favour

as they had a poor display against lyon plus out of the fa cup, whereas we beat the champions league holders on their own turf and hopefully a win tomorrow

if van persie comes on and bags one, i think manu fans will start to get worried

momentum, and the mental side of it is massive at this stage, so heres hoping

they dont even know who their best team is now :rolf23:

agreed, and its funny how momentum swings back and forth so quickly, one great performance could change the season for any team, but you know as well as I do this also means that it could swing back to Manure any time too, so it is important for us to put in some good performances as a whole unit, and hopefully get some of these injured players back which could boost confidence even more.
