watched both games yesterday (mentioned them in the preseason thread)...
they were both very entertaining.
Zelalem was head & shoulders above everybody on the field. Sheaf was willing to shoot once he got within 25 yards of the goal.
our GK was shocking :)

the azn vs psv game was really crazy.
great come from behind win for the azn team.
the goal that gave them the lead (if my memory serves) came from inside the centre circle.

i'll be tuning in tomorrow morning to see us play our 2nd game.
already have it saved on the tv guide.

Well we just drew 1-1 with AZN...
Second game in a row the AZN opponents get a man sent off.
I'm not even sure why we had a player sent off. They claim he said something to the 4th official or something :)

Anyway, Yassin Fortune was our best player today. He needs to work on that touch when he's running to the GK. On 2 occassions today he could have scored if not for heavy touches through on goal.

Sheaf scored from just outside the box again, but the AZN gk was definitely to blame.
we still had 55% possession, even after going a man down like 20 - 25 minutes into the game.

did you watch the game by any chance?
i watched most of it, but then the senior team starting playing vs chelsea & most of my attention went to that game obviously.

the same GK that gifted Celtic the goal in the 1st game, who didn't play the 2nd game which we won, started today for some strange reason.
a defender slowly rolled the ball back to him & he somehow let the ball roll under his leg (under no pressure whatsoever), resulting in the most ridiculous own goal i've seen in a while.

anyway, we advanced to the semis of the tournament.

I believe it Hugo Keto, the Finnish keeper we signed a while back.

Yassin Fortune scored a really nice goal after nutmegging a defender.
If i'm being honest, it was against the run of play in the 2nd half. Stuttgart came out with more intent in the 2nd, but Fortune got 1 chance & took it well.

Yeah made a couple of smart saves in the 90 mins and saved a couple of pens (poor efforts to be fair).
