Arsenal U21 vs Stoke U21

Postby Danskin » Tue Apr 07, 2015 2:18 pm

I'm not sure if this game will be streamed by the club's official website, but Arteta, Wilshere, Diaby and possibly Debuchy will feature in this match later tonight. The game will be played at Emirates.

Possible team:

Iliev

Kamara-O’Connor-Bielik-Ormonde Ottewill

Arteta-Wilshere

Gnabry-Diaby-Crowley

Iwobi

First appearence for Bielik at Emirates.

I'd hope Diaby and Wilshere switch positions in the above team.

Debuchy is not in the squad for this. According to Wenger, he's much closer to the first team than the others are (Wilshere, Arteta and Diaby). He may be on the bench for the Burnley game.

Went to the game, a few thoughts...

Iwobi took his goals well, 2 were very similar rifled into bottom right hand corner from the left inside the box.

Thought Gnabry was quite lively throughout, I would say he is close to match fitness. Jack wasn't bad, but didn't stand out, grew into the game though. Arteta was mostly average, Diaby looked miles off the pace at times, but had some flashes of the old Abou, I think he would struggle against top PL midfielders currently.

Didn't realise Crowley was smaller than Wilshere, not sure he will be able to cut it in the PL being that small. Bielik made a poor pass early on that nearly gifted them a goal but settled into the game. Looks very strong coming forward from the back with the ball, you can see why Wenger targeted him.

Iliev is a poor goalkeeper, his mistake gifted Stoke the first goal.

Some highlights, not the entire game
Iwobi really composed in front of goal.

Iliev looks like a terrible goalkeeper, but can't tell much from highlights

^ Yes, his numbers have dried up a little bit as of late, but he's been fantastic this season.
