If we were going to do a Leicester it would've been this season. No European games. Out of every domestic cup in January. Only league games from then on in

And we still f***ked up 4th

We're more Colchester than Leicester these days

Yeah agreed, we’re not going to do a Leicester, this season was the time because other sides form fell of a cliff, but City and Liverpool are too good.

We’re not winning a title anytime soon, Liverpool and City are just too good, we’re 24 points behind and City have signed Haaland, meanwhile we’re after players they don’t want.

When we're talking about what we should be aiming for? Win every competition we're in.

But that should be the aim of every single club including the ones that will realistically be fighting a relegation battle.

In terms of what are my minimum requirements for the manager to keep the job? Top 4.

Telegraph: Jurgen Klopp expects the gap between the top two and the rest of the Premier League to narrow next season, with Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United – under new manager Erik ten Hag – offering a far greater challenge to his Liverpool side and title favourites Manchester City.

Doesn’t seem to include us…..I wonder why?

Anything less than 4th would be failure, maybe a good run in the cup. Winning the EL would be good

First things first: the manager position needs to be sorted because I can’t see us doing anything of note next season while Arteta is still the manager. The way I see it we have two options:

1. Sack Arteta and bring in someone better. The problem here is that there may not be anyone available that is significantly better. This is, however, where a good scouting team comes in handy. Zidane is the only option that comes to mind but even I won’t pick him over Arteta without a solid scouts recommendation.
2. Try a 2-for-1 kind of deal if it’s allowed. That is bring in someone with experience to manage alongside Arteta. Maybe Wenger for one season. Wenger can handle the in game tactics while Arteta manages the enya factor.

Next, Xhaka needs to be sorted permanently. Sell him or bring in someone that benches him once and for all.

Third: two strikers need to be brought in to replace Lacazette and Aubameyang.

These three things are the bare minimum.

The aim for next season regardless of the quality of preseason preparations should be a EL win as the top priority while keeping an eye on a top 4 finish in the league.
Ramsdale
(Turner/Hein)
White Saliba Gabriel Zinchenko
(Tomiyasu/Niles) (Timber/Holding) (Trusty/Kiwior) (Tierney/Tavares)
Odegaard(c) —- Rice
(Xhaka/Lokonga) —- (Partey/Elneny)
Havertz
(Jorginho/Vieira)
Saka Jesus Martinelli
(Pepe/Nelson) (Nketiah/Balogun) (Trossard/ESR)

Realistic target given our current sorry state must be finishing in the 3rd to 6th range. Even that will require substantive improvement.

Failure to achieve 3-6 placing next season should be a sackable offence. No excuses (including any cup wins). No further chances.
Can’t say I’m delighted with the season, but to be fair Arteta did hit my pre-season ask of 3-6 place.

Top 4 or bust next season.
