If it's only a half accurate assessment, I'll be happy!

...especially this :
Lokonga also possesses a number of eye-catching qualities with the ball at his feet. He has drawn comparisons to former Arsenal star Abou Diaby due to his graceful dribbling style and ability to glide past opposition players with poise, something that will make the Gunners a better team in transition.

So you think a guy moving from the Belgian league has a better chance settling into English football than one from the French or German leagues?

Can you explain how you drew that conclusion from the post I made?
Will be fascinating to understand your thinking.

How many times have you told us you don’t rate players from Germany (Lewa) and France (Saliba) because their leagues are weaker than England. And you need to see the player do it in England before you’re convinced.

Totally underwhelming.

Naturally he will get the support of Arsenal fans but I don't think many hold out much hope that he will wow anybody.

Good signing. Wrap up Ben White + spend serious money on a CAM and It's been a very good window.

Roberto Martinez and Vincent Kompany have both said he's a great young player.

As they would both know more about him than me I'll take their word for it for now and welcome him aboard.

No, he just doesn't carry around a doll of Arteta so he can stick pins in it every 5 minutes.

If you reread what I wrote, you will find that I did not rate the player - either highly or lowly.
Makes your point somewhat moot.

How anyone can call this a very good window must be pure windup !

You would never think we signed players like Overmars, Petit, Gilberto, Vieira, Ljungberg, Bergkamp Pires, Henry etc in the past, but signing Lokonga, White, Tavares and some yet unnamed AM will make this window a very good one :rofll:

Joke ting.

Overmars - well known for pace. Certainly felt like a big signing at the time.
Petit - no one had ever heard of him
Gilberto - no one had ever heard of him
Vieira - no one had ever heard of him
Ljunberg - no one had ever heard of him
Bergkamp - we signed God.
Pires - no one had ever heard of him
Henry - well known but not that much excitement, young and looked a bit of an inconsistent wide player with some pace.

Our window so far has been spot on (assuming we sign White)
We needed a CM, we got one that is highly rated
We needed a CB, we might be getting one that is highly rated
We needed cover for Tierney as we saw last year what a disaster it was when Tierney was injured - we got one and he looked decent on his debut.

I am hoping we sign 2-3 more players.
Bellerin replacement.
Another CM.
Striker.
