There are other cheaper options from La Liga or S.America. Especially if we are looking for a passmaster or a ball player.

The next area to focus on is central midfield and striker.

We need a partner for Partey. We were in for Locatelli in the summer apparently which would have been very good.

After that, we need to sign a striker as Auba is 31 and Laca is off in the summer.

Finally, if we're going to play Smith Rowe on the wing then an attacking midfielder behind the striker. We still have room to improve attacking wise so if we get someone that can unlock a defence - like an Ozil - then it will aid free flowing, attacking football.

I guarantee we will spend big on yet another PL defender.

I think our ST targets are locked in, we're looking at up-and-comers who haven't had a breakout season yet. I don't think we were serious about Locatelli, as we made bids first instead of agreeing personal terms. Makes sense because Italian players always go for Juve first.

I am very glad we were not serious about Locatelli. He;s not the midfielder we need.

I think we need another couple of defenders but I don;t think we'll go big in the transfer market for one.
Saliba is coming back with 2 years left on his contract. There is no doubt he's doing enough to get a shot in a PL squad.

I think that's a pretty accurate reflection not of the quality of our window, but how little fans actually know what players are really needed.

Yes, we lack a quality midfielder, but maybe Odegaard or ESR might develop into one. At least , fixing the defense has given the youngsters some breathing space to develop. We can hold on to the opposition if not dominate them and win by attrition. A step at a time.

I think we could be going in for a big name signing either in Jan or the summer.
I think the order of buying the younger players with top character and bags of potential (which they already starting to show) before an established star was correct.
The team we HAD, bringing in a top name to add to that baseline would have been a waste and would have had little impact, but now... can you imagine the opportunity here building on a squad that is young, talented and on the way up. It would be the next lift. I expect a star striker will come in PLUS a top-level midfielder.
Still think we need cover for CB and RB too.
Work in progress, but the window just gone was a stellar start.

All true but biggest problem in the team wasn't sorted. No creativity.

Tbf building a solid defense should come first

Cannot believe how well our defence have settled in and how pivotal strengthening the defence was in creating a solid foundation.

Next we need to improve the midfield. We're still not able to keep the ball for long enough periods. If we can get a couple of good technical players in the ilk of Santi we'll be very strong.

Yep, striker(s) and a CM next because Party is injury prone and also leaving for the ACON.
I think we will strengthen again in January.
