that or theyve got someone else lined up and think person B is a better investment

and that person better not be odegaard. if hes our only attacking player this summer ill be disappointed because hes been a bit underwhelming. weve seen what he can do and it wont lift us to anything great imo.

im hoping its because we're going for aouar + bissouma, otherwise its a sad day for AFC. getting outbid by villa... dear lord.

Were one of those holiday makers who had to come back earleir?

We’ve shifted our attention to Ruben Neves. Dear lord!

Tbf we haven't been doing this enough, we should be snapping up the best players from lesser teams that already play in the EPL and we know can perform

Yep, we've missed out on this over the years. I only really want Bissouma and maybe Ben White or Lamptey though.

@ChrisWheatley_: Arsenal matched the salary being offered to Buendia, but Villa's package to Norwich was more enticing. Told that Arsenal 'matched it, or went even more, but on a different structure of deal.'

So basically the player chose villa over us

Oh dear

Not it means Norwich wanted more money upfront. Understandable as they need the money right now to replace Buendia and try everything to stay up next season. Getting 40m structured over 4(assumption from me) years isn't very helpful for Norwich right now.

Sounds like he had a choice between us and villa and went for villa.

Well he sees that Arteta is an idiot and wants none of it.

Villa's management team is levels above us. If you're a player serious about improving your game you'd go there. Good decision by Buendia.

So it was a financial decision, then.
Fair enough.

Tend to agree. We've been burned with overrated players from foreign leagues.

I have long been an advocate of us plundering the Championship for a typical "British" centre half. Nothing wrong with that. I think full backs from the Championship are a good shout too, because they do the basics well and have terrific engines.

the problem is we're not an attractive place to come anymore due to our mediocrity and the toxicity around the club.

look at buendia. we offered the same financial terms to him but he chose villa over us.

how the mighty have fallen.

Seems Buendia didn’t follow our amazing run between Christmas Day and the May.
