He's a versatile player, good on the ball. Can be used as DM as well and even as RB. Can see why he was pursued much.

Actually after 10 games last year we had 13 points. Now we have 17. Over a season, that's a rate of 15 points.
Of course that is not the way to measure a player either, but given your dumb dumb question, it will suffice.

It's just funny that literally a couple of hours after your dumb dumb question it ended up kicking you in the ass.

Goalkeeper was suspect and full backs weren't as defensively sound.

As a pair Kos and Merts worked well together but I feel so much more confident with White and Gabriel there. Maybe we're just better organised now :dontknow:

Ramsdale > Szczesny ( Szczesny was quality back then but his inexperience/brain farts and lack of coaching let him down, as you can see how much better the was for Roma/Juventus)

Sagna > Tomiyasu ( Tomiyasu is a quality defensive fullback but Sagna on the other hand was a different kind of monster, only Ivanovic came close in terms of similar fullbacks)

Mertesacker > Gabriel (physically he’s superior to per but Mertesacker wins due to his intelligence, for example when Gabriel let Benteke score the other day by letting him shoot on his stronger foot, Mertesacker wouldn’t allow something like that)

Koscielny > White (No contest there’s a reason why Peps Barcelona and Bayern wanted him back in the day, you can buy plenty of defenders like White but finding an elite one with Koscielnys attributes is rare)

Donreal > KT ( the only thing stopping KT from being a better player are his fitness issues, there’s not much between them tbh both consistent players, Monreal superior defensively and KT is better going forward)

But tbh there’s no point in us comparing the two defences as it was a different period under different management, Wengers teams were more attacking and higher line, whereas under Arteta we are more defensively orientated with two CDMs and everyone tracking back.

Good shout KG3, imagine how much better we would've been defensively if Wenger gave even 1 shit about defending !!!

We should be more offensive. Ramsdale, White, Gabriel, Tomiyasu, Tierney, Tavares, Partey, Sambi, even Chambers have good attacking abilities. The good news is I think Arteta has started to change the mindset in the last few weeks.
