I didn't watch but my mate told me that he pulled off some crazy block but then we conceded a shitty goal straight after.

Why would he need to be prime Maldini?
This is like the recent comments saying we've failed if we don't challenge for the title this year.

50 million is big money for a centre back, especially one with one season in the top flight under his belt.

The price tag should reflect his ability, for the price we paid given his experience he needs to be one of the best centre backs around, in the same way Van DiJk and Dias have been for Liverpool and City.

I agree, we have massivley overpaid for this guy unless he proves to be up there with the best. I've never seen him play so I cannot say how it will turn out.

I've seen him play. Well I've seen Brighton play a few times last season. Never noticed him.

We've been fooled

He's not a player who stood out for sure. I only heard of him when he turned up for the England friendlies.

You guys really don't watch much football if you hadn't heard of Ben White before he even played in the premiership.

Because he cost £50m Jay and I don't think we should've bought him for that amount of money.

Lets be clear, I have never said he is a shit player, I just don't think he is worth anywhere near £50m. So .. to win me over, he needs to be outstanding ! Its that simple, its my subjective view on us spunking money.

Couldn't care less about the money.
I want him to make our defence better - which is not going to be easy because we have one of the best defences in the league already.
He's a top player and looked good in his limited minutes against Chelsea.
If he does well I could give a rats ass if he meets some subjective fan criteria of 'outstanding.

I don't get this trend of making it hard as possible to accept our new signings.
I am pretty sure it's because Arteta signed them.
There are times to be concerned about value for money but that is after we've seen the player play a season.

Doesn't care about the money but 70m for Pepe will be mentioned countless times

But not trolling apparently lol

Not to mention how much Auba is on lol

Once again - as I have corrected you before - Pepe is judged not to be worth 73m because we have seen him play for us.
Aubameyang had already played nearly 3 seasons and had reached the age of 31.
Once again - false equivalences for the purposes of trolling.
Not sure how you are getting away with it.

So you do care about the money when its players you hate

But don't when its players Arteta signs cos he can do no wrong?

Just for future reference. You change goalposts so many times. It's hard to keep up.

Nope.
The value equation comes into play once we have actually seen players play for us and of course what they can bring to our future success.
50m could be an absolute steal for Ben White. We'll know more once he has a chance to show what he can do at this level.
Pepe and Auba are known quantities now.
No one, in their right mind. would argue that Pepe is worth 73m and the same for Auba being on 350k a week.

Very simple to understand - but you continue to troll away.

After what Auba did for us before he signed the contract, he deserved it. Kept us up. Won us the cup.

Pepe hasn't shown his full worth yet. Doesn't help neither manager wanted him but he had a good season last season despite being in and out of the team and hoping he's treated right now.

White did nothing for Brighton. We pay 50m.

White did nothing for Brighton? Their player of the season.
...and you accuse others of trolling.
Like I said - don't know how you continue to get away with it.
