The Run in and TOP 4

We have 10 matches left this season and if we win our game in hand of Chelsea we are just 7 points behind them.
They are currently in 4th place.

Keep in mind we have to play them also - beating them makes that 4 points.
We also play Everton, Liverpool - vital games.

One of the teams we need to catch is West ham - again VITAL to beat them today.
IMO, a top 4 place in the PL is still achievable - but we'll need to win the vast majority of our remaining 10 games.

If we win them all we're almost certain to get 4th.

Liverpool home
Sheff Utd away
Fulham home
Everton home
Newcastle away
West Brom home
Chelsea away
Crystal Palace away
Brighton home

All of these games are winnable.

If we won 9 of them we'd end the season on 68 points
that is 17 points more than Chelsea have right now - and they only have 9 games left - 17 points from 9 games is not easy .. it's more points per game than they have achieved this season to date...add to that one of the games is against us as mentioned.. if they lose it they'd need 17pts from 8 games.

I think we're still in the top 4 race - at least for now , BUT we'll need to win 9 of our last 10 AND beat West Ham, Everton, Liverpool and Chelsea in the run in. Tough, but not out of reach.

Lose today of course and it's very very hard to see it happening.

There's no chance of top 4 buddy, look at the fixtures for all teams...only Chelsea and Leicester have a hard run in.


You're asking us to take 27/30, which in itself is 0.01% likely, but also need all of the following:

Chelsea to take <17/27
West Ham to take <20/30
Liverpool to take <22/27
Everton to take < 22/30
Tottenham to take <23/30
Villa to take <27/33

It's not one or the other...it's all of them. If any single one of those teams hits their marker then we will not make top 4 even winning 9 of 10 games. There is absolutely no chance all these teams f**k up that bad...we'll be lucky to make top 6.

Was waiting for the inevitable fixture thread for the run in. I'd have thought last couple of seasons would have shown us no point predicting what we can get in fixtures. We can lose to dog teams at any point.

I admire the outlook here in what seems to be a sea of negativity. I think even top 6 is highly unlikely but hopefully the run in gives them something to build on for next season.

Looked bleak as soon as the starting line up was announced.

We'd be lucky to finish top 8. Team are their own worst enemy and just when you think they cut out one type of brainfart, they commit another type.

Different types of mistakes costing us every game, it's not going to happen. You just have to hope we fluke the EL and use the CL advantage to get some good players in and bin the problems like xhaka away

I still think a Europa League finish is attainable, but we're reliant on a lot of teams to drop off. We play the bottom 5 teams in our final 8 games. I won't pay much attention to the table until the final few matches.
