Example Darwin Nunez, DiMaria and many others.
Hopefully he'll be more productive in his 2nd season in PL. ( Actually, maybe 3rd. He played for another PL side earlier, I think).

Was a total flop at Newcaslle and was virtually the same in midfield for us. He scored some much needed goals for us as a fill in striker showing anyone could score for us with the side behind them apart from Arteta talent ID for an actual striker.
What would we look like with an actual striker most likely league winners x 2 but hey we are where we are and will continue to be until peeps call out shit decision making

He was not a total flop in Newcastle. He was still considered as a talented young player and at least Bilbao, Betis and Sociedad wanted him. Newcastle didn't even want to sell him, but he had a release clause.

Lets be clear, what Merino did at CF for us this season wasn't incredible, its literally the difference it makes having a footballer with decent composure on the pitch getting into positions any half decent CF should be getting themselves into.

The fact his numbers look so good doesn't prove he was good or great, it tells you what we are missing out on by not having a proper CF on the pitch. Imagine how much better we would be !

Get a proper CF in and watch us take off like Air Jamaica !
