Hopefully this will get more to the ladies games. I have to say they are enjoyable to watch and they interact a lot more with the fans than the men do. Indeed, one guy I met at Boreham Wood relentlessly mocked the sp*rs goalie (not maliciously or swearing) when we thrashed them 6-0 in a friendly, but afterwards went down and shook hands with her.

Arsenal Ladies through to the Champions League group stage, despite some dirty tactics from those Ajax weedheads.

5-1 against last year's UWCL winners Lyon who are also the most-decorated Women's team in world football. (They have won 8 CL titles in the last 11 years.)

We can confirm that Beth Mead suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in our match against Manchester United at Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Unfortunately, this means that Beth is set for an extended period on the sidelines. She will see a surgeon in the coming days, after which further details on timescales will be established.

Everyone at the club will now be supporting Beth and working hard to get her back on the pitch as soon as possible.

Goes without saying Mead's season is over. Best wishes to her - hope she makes a full recovery.

That's terrible news.

Ironically read the following last week (Think Sky Sports have updated to include Beth Mead hence date change) about the regulairty of ACL injuries in women's sports being linked to menstrual cycles and Gary Lewin is hoping to lead the way with the research into it.

I also read that women were getting injured more because the boots were male boots rather than geared to female physique.
