What I'm hearing from the Arsenal Vision Podcast is that he was recommended by the goalkeeping coach because they've worked together before. Scouts everywhere were saying he's rubbish but we signed him anyway. Feedback from training was that he's not good. We played him anyway.

We can't trust these clowns to sign more players. Imagine Arteta trying to argue that Ozil and Saliba aren't good enough to play in this team but he's starting this guy in the league cho against City. Unbelievable.

Posted this in the match thread:

He's a boy. He may come good in time and with experience.

Blame the person who decided to give him some experience against arguably the best side in England in a cup quarter final.

Are you talking about Runarson or Arteta?

I remember when he let in 15 goals in 5 games in 16/17
Including two5-1 defeats to Bayern Munich and a 3-1 defeat at West Brom

He's 25. He's just been second/third choice keeper his entire career.

Didn't realise he's 25!

OK then he should be ditched.

I also thought he was 21-22. Only yesterday did I find out he's 25.

Apparently deleted his Twitter account because of fans abuse.

Poor kid, it's not his fault but Artetas and Edus they signed him and played him in a game he isn't up for.

We will probably be looking for a new backup GK in January. We are one Leno injury away from fighting relegation to actually getting relegated.

Poor business again by Edu, Arteta and co.

I heard that rumour, but I also heard that his Twitter was deactivated around the time he signed for us. Apparently he had made some unsavoury tweets in English, which might have gone ignored by the press before as he was playing in France.

He slagged off Wenger on Twitter. When he signed for Arsenal he quickly deleted his old tweets.

Imagine Saliba watching this guy and thinking, why doesn’t he need a transition year? Hell, I moved from the French league and he moved from the Norwegian league but he’s deemed good enough to start.
