Most exciting late winner this decade?

Postby KG3 » Wed Sep 09, 2020 4:05 pm

We have had some amazing late winners the last few years from the win against Barcelona with Arshavin scoring the winner, FA cup final vs Hull Ramsey winner our first trophy in years or Welbeck against Leicester.

My question to you though is which one got you the most excited, for me it’ll always be the 2-1 win against Leicester with the Welbeck winner, I really though we were going to win the title after that but well Giroud happened :crybaby:

Welbeck; as without our Captain Hindsight on - all the big 6 where struggling and we all expected Leicester to collapse and that late winner gave us the dream that we would push on and win the league.

We didn't we lost to a struggling Man Utd the following week. :( and never recovered.

But the dream was alive for a week.

The Barca one was brilliant but knowing we had to go the Camp Nou with the defence we had was a shorter lived enjoyment.

In the end it meant little, but Welbeck's header vs. Leicester was certainly the most exciting. Oh what could have been.

Welbeck definitely. I never celebrated a goal so hard in my life. I’m quite sure I expressed my joy in the match day thread but not entirely sure

Yep, was at that one and have never jumped screamed and hugged as many random people as I did that day. Incredible moment and everyone thought we were gonna win it all :(

Welbeck was an incredible moment, fair play to Leicester for recovering it after that I thought they would choke after that

Fabregas..

It's to Nasri..

Can he go all the way here?

Still Nasri..

Looks for... ARSHAVIIIIIIIIIIIIN!

Wonderful play from Arsenal..

Arsene Wenger's philosophy put into practice and not even Barcelona can come up with an answer. It's a goal worthy of them.
