Wise words that I thought were crazy at the time - I mean Holding? Jeez we're in trouble defensively.

Really looking forward to theb game on Saturday for a number of reasons, seeing the White-Gabriel partnership is fine if the reasons.
Could be very good.

As things stand and for all intensive purposes, this thread has about as much substance to it as a romantic candle lit dinner for two at the First Dates restaurant (I swear, my missus puts a gun to my head and makes me watch it, honest) for Father Christmas and the Fairy Godmother.

However, the point is, is it is based upon the logic and potential gauged by the many from watching the Frenchman from afar and the Brazilian in his rightful place at the heart of our defence.

The purchase of Benny Blanco does not entirely muddy the waters in that we can ill afford to not have at least 3 talented young centre backs to counter balance ownership of Callum Chambers and Rob Holding who are our equivalents of having addictions to gambling and crack cocaine.

Analysis of the past is obviously easier than predictions of the future, so think about what we have gone and done like this:

Gabriel Magalhaes' is Tony Adams. Ben White is Kolo Toure. Billy Saliba is Sol Campbell. Get a pen and some paper, do the algebraic equations showing your workings out and let's see what the answers are.

If your interest goes beyond the last statement then yes, Rob Holding is Skodran Mustafi and Callum Chambers the irrepressible Sebastien Squillaci.

Having and expressing differing opinions is one thing while logic and reasoning in formulating those options are another.

In not straying too far away from the initial point and having some degree of relevance, the most debated and contentious argument used to be who was the best of the two captains and midfield kingpins, Keane or Viera.

In trying to make an unbiased conclusion, if you formulated 10 categories (leadership, passing ability, work rate etc,) and marked them out of 10, for me, Roy Keane would simply score 9 out of 10 across the board, whilst Patrick Viera would score 8 out of 10 in five of the categories but 10 out of 10 in the remaining five.

Was at fault for the loss to Denmark apparently, didn't watch the match though, so can't really comment.

Rumours:

*William Saliba to sign new contract
*Juventus want Gabriel Magalhaes

I'm never going to see my CB partnership, am I?
