I just can’t get excited about this partnership until that new contract is signed

With our matching new black away kit too to boot, Guinness could be missing a great marketing opportunity on the simple emphasis of it having been worth the wait.

Two big guys who are good with the ball at their feet, not often you get big strong centre backs who are capable of playing the ball out from the back so having two at the same time is awesome :cloud9:

Excellent comparison. Sol's technique was crap. he was just a monster of defender all round. Tall, strong, quick, excellent reading of strikers intentions for his tackle.

Rio had more technique but I think Sol was overall better, both world class in their prime.

Big, mobile, composed, and skilled passers. The combination with White at RB is very promising.

White offers depth, competition to keep the other two on their toes, and a tactical option because he plays very offensively and likes to push up into attacking positions.

I think this is all Arteta’s sly plan to get Saliba to sign a new deal. Start him at CB in big games, get him to sign a new deal and then throw him on the bench for his blue eyed boy Ben. Teta knows he’s in deep shit it Saliba doesn’t sign a new deal.

Yeah Sol edges it overall, he was a beast, Rio wasn't and could be bullied by a Heskey-type.

Not sure where this good with the ball at his feet malarkey came from, he was terrible on the ball. But back when defenders had to be good at defending, it didn't matter.

More negative drivel and pure guess work to bash Arteta.

Saliba beasted the game so maybe Arteta simply likes what he sees? I know it doesn't fit in with the narrative on here but try to be a little bit open minded at least.

Icons. The difference in composure between Saliba-Gabriel and the Mustafi-Luiz combo is immeasurable.

Think it'll be Saliba-Gabby w/ White playing RB come Friday .
Once Tomi is fit , it'll be day to day between White and Saliba for RCB. White is an option for DM as well and Zinchenko for CM ( if Partey is unavailable). We've more options and flexibility now.

White has never played DM. He's as much a option there as he is an option upfront
